Care
Hand wash with mild dish washing soap. Rinse and dry immediately. Do not use metallic scrubbers. Periodically apply a small amount of mineral oil or other food-safe oil to wood components.
For easier cleaning post-grilling, apply a light coating of oil to the metal baskets before inserting your veggies.

Love these baskets!
Forget the skewers and veges falling off. These baskets remove the hassle of trying to keep shish kebob veges from burning and falling into the grill. Easy to use for the oven or the grill, these baskets areremove a great purchase!

I would not buy this product again
The idea if these kabob baskets is great. Unfortunately they don't hold up. The tiny metal clip that holds the top on to the bottom breaks. All of mine did after using twice. One arrived already broken. You're not supposed to put in dishwasher and they are hard to store. When I was able to use two of them, they were great, but the hassle is too much. Going back to my flat screwers which have never let me down.

Excellent Kabobs!
Every month a group of us get together to share a meal & play cards. Last August we attempted to grill kabobs. How many can "disaster" be defined? From veggies that turned into charcoal briquettes to barely cooked (rare? More like raw!) meats, obviously we hadn't a clue! This year, we tried again, using these Kabob Grilling baskets and it was a great success! These baskets are easy to use, allow for specific grill time (veggies v. meat) and make clean up so easy! We will use them over & over, I'm certain!

From what I can tell, this is a quality product
We haven't used this yet as it was a Christmas gift and likely won't be used until the weather is a bit warmer, when we're grilling again. But I'm impressed by the apparent quality and sturdiness of the baskets, and have high hopes that they will work well to grill kabobs without having to use skewers

Purchased this set as a Christmas gift for my brother who is the kabob king! He's already used them and said they made things faster, both cooking & cleanup. He mentioned you don't have to worry about items falling off skewers and into the flames with these.

Great Grilling!
Skewers are not easy, and they are not fun — I can't tell you the number of mushrooms, pineapples and chicken bits I have lost to the briquets. But the Kabob Grilling Baskets have saved the food from the flame — and onto out kitchen table. No, because the wood handles need to be kept away from flames and can't be enclosed in the oven or lid-closing grill.

You certainly could if you wanted to, but the beauty of the baskets is that you don't need a skewer. I for one can't stand pulling hot food off a skewer, so these baskets are perfect as far as I'm concerned! If you wanted to use a skewer, I'd suggest sticking to wooden skewers (pre-soaked, of course, to prevent a fire) because you can trim them to fit inside the baskets perfectly.
