Easy Icee Maker
Have had one of these for years - is super easy to use and makes your own cola slushies. I wished it worked for diet colas, but instructions say it won't work as well. We love it for easy Icees. Also easy to clean.

You're Better Off With a Blender
The idea of an instant way to make Icee style drinks at home appealed a lot to me (especially on the hot day when I clicked buy) but the performance of this is unimpressive. The first time I tested it it had been chilling in the freezer built into my fridge for about 10 hours (the box says it needs 8 hours for the insert to chill) and after 15 minutes of occasional stirring I gave up and realized that it was only to give me a chilled root beer, not the root beer slush I'd been trying to make. To test whether it was a complete failure I made a second attempt by putting the insert into my chest freezer for 24 hours, which is colder than the standard freezer on my fridge. That did actually produce something much slushier closer to the 7 minute estimate that box advertises, but it would have been faster and simpler to just put it in my blender with ice cubes. If I'd made it in the blender it also would have held all 12oz of liquid from the soda bottle I was using, it looks like max capacity of the insert is closer to 8oz. So it's a small batch gadget that is slow to reset and I can't recommend it.
