Grandson Loves It!
My 6 year-old grandson is excited to be creating his own book! My son created one when he was 5 years old, and was extremely proud to received his hard-bound book in the mail. This was a wonderful way for him to see where his imagination can lead him, and to experience the feeling of accomplishment that comes from completing a project from start to finish.

The perfect gift to encourage young authors
As grandparents and an aunt and uncle, we were excited about having our granddaughters and nephews create their own books. But the best part of Christmas was watching the reactions of the kids when we explained to them what the gift was all about! They couldn't believe that they would be able to get their book published! Are the pages front and back? And does every page have a space to color/illustrate a picture or are some just lines for writing?

The kit includes 20 pages and for one side only. There are blank pages and some pages are split with an area for the drawing and lines under it for written words.

Can you place the drawings and content where you want them on the page or does all the content have to be on the lines on the paper?

There are two types of blank paper included. One has a large area for drawings with lines below for writing. If you'd like to just have a drawing, you can leave the lines area blank. Also included is a large empty page for your cover!

Can my grandson type his story on the computer & after printing pages, attach to the pages provided.

The publisher does not recommend taping anything to the paper. The company scans the pages and any paper that is taped will jam the scanner. They'll return those pages and won't complete the book.

Can photographs be attached and used for the pictures, rather than drawings?

Hi there! When the maker receives a kit that includes photographs, they may not be able to scan it properly. They state that it's best to only include their own, original artwork and text in the kit.

Do you have to use the markers that come with the kit or are you able to use your own markers, colored pencils, watercolor, etc. for the illustration pages?

Hello! Per the maker: You are more than welcome to use your own markers. We just do not recommend using pencils, glue, glitter, or tape on your kit pages.

We recommend this kit for ages 4+, but we recognize that children develop these skills at varying ages. The creation part of this kit involves writing words and drawing on blank sheets, so it is up to your discretion whether you think it is suitable for your favorite little one!
