Fun Family Game Night
We loved this game, played last year at Christmas. Now, my daughter is taking it to college to play with friends again. Even though it's a one-time solve, someone that's played before can be the host (Santa) and play with a different group of people. It's silly and as fun as you're willing to make it by acting out the character parts. Wish there was a new/different version and I would buy another.

Good family fun.
Played this game on Christmas Eve 2022 with family and it was fun. It was a slow start and took a bit of time to understand. I was bummed that it was a one time solve though. If you buy this be sure to read the directions well in advance of getting together to play.

Fun time had by all!
Was a fun evening with family. My sister, her girls, myself and my son (he is the youngest at 16) spend most christmases together. We always play games do puzzles etc. This is fun for everyone.

Fun Holiday Mystery
We got this to play with the whole family on Christmas between opening gifts and dinner. It was perfect! Lots of fun trying to figure out who done it and easy enough for everyone to join in. It took us about an hour to work through all the rounds, but we took our time. It could be played faster than that. I suppose it is a negative that it can only be played once, although it is what I expected with a mystery game like this. If you save the cards though it could be played again with a different group of people.

Not worth the money. Can only play once.
We played this on Christmas Eve and it was sort of easy to solve. It seems like the main "fun" is staying in character and mingling but we were hoping for a meatier mystery. Disappointing that you can only solve it once. Was hoping it had more variations.

If only 6 people are playing, are the other character cards supposed to be read aloud to the group? Some of the non-essential character's clues talk about characters that won't be part of the game so it seems confusing to not talk about who all 12 characters are.

This game can be played by 2 people, and up to 12 people. This game can also be played over and over again. The host controls the game, and would talk for the characters that are NOT actively being played by a human.

If you don't have the full 12 players playing, what do you do about the secrets that are on their character cards? Should you just skip/ignore them OR should Santa read them to the group? Also for those that ARE playing, if they're secrets involve players that aren't playing do you skip? For example, in our upcoming game Wendy's secrets involve Kevin and Elsa but neither of those characters is in our game. What to do!

Great question! You are correct, simply ignore and do not include the clues or instructions for players not present in the room.

Could you do this with participants not physically together? Would it work virtually if the game host mailed clues to different people ahead of time?
Verified reply from Itamar
Hello! Great question! Unfortunately, this game is not suitable for online/remote play as part of the instructions include physically seeking out clues and interacting in a room.

Does the murderer change from round to round or is it always the same guilty character?
Verified reply from Itamar
Great question! The clues all build up in a series of independent rounds throughout the game. Instructions for the host include clues about which characters should remain consistent every time you play. The game only has one solution to all the clues at the end of the game :^)

I know someone else asked this - but can you give a range of how long the average time is to play? Are we talking one hour or two hours or 4 hours or 30 min? I'm having people over for 2-3 hours but don't want to spend the entire time on this.
Verified reply from Jen
Thank you for your question regarding Christmas Nightmare the playing time is approximately 60 minutes.

What types of props are included? Are there additional props the host should provide for the best game experience?
Verified reply from Itamar
Great question! No props are included in this game. While we think its a great suggestion, they are not necessary :^)
