It's cute but...
This is a cute little house for... something. While you could feed butterflies with the cups there is a zero chance of the butterflies actually spending the winter in it. Worse is the fact that the interior boards are an attractive home to paper wasps. The construction is a little off, you could renovate it for something else if you really wanted. Overall a nice idea but not one that will work.

Paint peeled within a week
I was so excited to receive this as a gift but sadly it didn't stand up to the elements at all. The pain immediately started peeling off.

Very poorly built
This is a nice idea, but cheap wood and poor construction. Look at the picture, the wood panels inside are delaminating. The sides pulled apart because they only use a few brads to put it together.

Cant be hung by the hardware on it
I haven't put it outside yet. I will have to just sit it on the steps. I won't put any nectar or food in it because that would attract skunks and ants. Hopefully butterflies will find it.
Response from merchant
Thank you for your feedback! We've found it works best when setting the butterfly habitat in a sunny sheltered position, out of prevailing winds.

Ours didn't come w a hanging apparatus. Is it supposed to sit on the ground?!?
Verified reply from Norma
The Butterfly Biome is not meant for hanging it is to be set on a table to porch ledge away from wind in a sunny area.

The description mentions removable cups for nectar and seeds. What seeds are appropriate for butterflies? Other than sugar water, what do you feed butterflies?
Verified reply from Allison
Butterfly caterpillars almost all eat plant matter. Caterpillars eat leaves, but some species eat seeds and seed pods while others specialize on flowers.

Does this product come with whatever I see inside of the cup on the picture. I assume it's some sort of mineral material.
Verified reply from Allison
What you see in the cup is fruit. Butterflies love fruit! It is not included.
