Be aware...

This set must be for Chinese Mah Jong and not American Mah Jong, as it doesn't have enough tiles (152 for American including Jokers vs 144 in Chinese Mah Jong). So be careful when you are buying to be sure which kind of Mah Jong you are going to play. I gave it one star only because I couldn't give it zero. I love Uncommon Goods, but this misses the mark.

Worth it

My grandma and I played when I was I kid on the computer, which was the only was I could justify spending this much on something with no reviews. It's amazing! Such incredible quality, the cuts in the wood are perfect, and handed very smooth. I've never played in person but am now looking forward to it. Definitely heirloom quality :)

Does the mahjong have weight to them ?

The weight of the entire set including the box is 4.25 lbs. Mah Jong tiles are standard size 32. Tiles measure 1.26"H x 1"W x 0.63"D (3.2cm x 2.4cm x 1.6cm).
