What Makes This Handblown Glass Spiral Twist Cup Uncommon

Ori Shir brings a sculptural sensibility to the everyday glass, shaping each piece by hand into a softly twisted form that catches the light from every angle. The subtle spiral texture adds depth and movement, while a vibrant contrasting color on the lip creates a striking finish. Lightweight yet sturdy, each one feels celebration-worthy but is designed to be used often and admired always.

  • Available in six colors and sold individually for easy mixing and matching.
  • Holds approximately 12 oz.
  • Measures approximately 4"H x 3" dia.
  • Lightweight, durable, and dishwasher safe.
  • Handblown in Massachusetts.

created by

Ori Shir

Ori Shir found his way to glassmaking by an unexpected route: beekeeping. Before stepping into the studio, he had a career as an apiarist in Massachusetts, where matching the bees' summer work schedule left him with free time in the winter. Introduced to glass through his wife, he was drawn in by its color, movement, and endless possibilities. Today, he creates handblown pieces that balance function with artistry, each one shaped without molds and full of subtle character. What began in a makeshift furnace (a 55-gallon metal drum!) in a small shed has grown into a dedicated studio practice rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and appreciation for everyday beauty.

As the holidays approach, it's worth setting aside time for the people who are hardest to shop for. Decor is the gift someone would not buy for themselves, which is usually the right test. Our selection of unique Christmas gifts has plenty more worth considering.

Gift lists are easier to finish when they are grouped by who is getting what. Between our gifts for men and our gifts for women there is something for the whole table.
