There weren't any care instructions in my box. Should this be seasoned with food grade mineral spirits? I'm worried about stains from greasy food but don't want to season it if the etching will be harder y try o read. Thanks!

Wash in warm soapy water immediately after each use and dry thoroughly. Do not use as a cutting board--Slate will dull your knife, and has the potential to split and crack with applied pressure. Slate is a natural stone, so some acids and alkaline cleaners may etch its surface. Your slate arrives to you pre-sealed with a food safe stone sealer.
