It's a bird! It's a...yep, that's a bird. Or, if you want to be technical about it, the eagles, owls, hawks, and falcons on these four rocks glasses by Kaelin Tillery and Richard Duggan are called raptors. That's because they're some of Mother Nature's fiercest hunters. Some of them are also, as it happens, not doing so hot, population-wise. Raising awareness--it's all the more reason to raise a glass in their honor. Glasses made in the US. Printed in Colorado.

Kaelin Tillery and Richard Duggan like to say that the universe tried to throw them together a number of times before it actually worked out. They met in multiple cities, through several different people, before they eventually “realized that resistance was futile and agreed to meet over a cliché cup of coffee. (Feel free to insert your own sappy music and soft-focus camera angle right here.)”

First they forged a friendship, but that turned into a marriage, a house, a family of random animals, and business together. “We did the logical thing,” they explain, “and put our art educations together and began designing.” Each of those designs starts out as a pencil sketch, then they ink their illustrations and prepare them for screen printing in their studio in Denver—the city “the universe” finally settled them in.

Perfect gift for a guy who's hard to buy for

Perfect Glassware for Bird Enthusiasts

My husband uses these glasses daily. The images have so far held up perfectly being cleaned in the top rack of our dishwasher. They look great and it's cool that there different species pictured within each major group of birds. Do all 4 glasses have different birds on them? It is hard to see in the photos what birds are included.
