Very Nice
Bought this for my husband as a birthday present. He hasn't used it yet but it looks very nice. I like that it comes with tools that can be used with other wood once the wood from the kit is used.

Missing an item
The tutorial included in the kit says that you need a leather strop in order to maintain the carving knife and keep it sharp (sharp knives are important! you're more likely to injure yourself with an unsharpened knife!). However, the leather strop is not included in this kit. I assume this is due to the "no leather" policy on Uncommon Goods, which is understandable, but it's very strange to sell a beginner's kit and not include one of the items that the tutorial tells you to use.

Our kit is designed to give beginners everything they need to get started, as listed online —and while our values keep us from including leather goods, a leather strop is widely available to purchase separately if you'd like to follow the tutorial exactly. We're so glad you're prioritizing a sharp, safe blade!
