What Makes Punderdome: Wordplay Challenge for Pun Lovers Uncommon

Two random prompts. Ninety seconds. One gloriously groan-worthy pun. Each round sends players scrambling to mash an unlikely pair of ideas into the funniest wordplay they can manage before the clock runs out, while one judge decides whose joke deserves the cards. With the judging changing hands every round, victory depends less on being objectively funny and more on knowing exactly what makes your friends lose it.

  • Includes 200 double-sided prompt cards (100 white, 100 green), 2 mystery prize envelopes with fill-in slips, two 80-page pads for drafting puns, 1 instruction card, and 1 example card.
  • Each round, the prompter draws two prompt cards and reads them aloud; the rest of the group has 90 seconds to invent one pun combining both, and the prompter awards the winner both cards.
  • First player to collect 10 pairs of prompt cards wins; each round's winner becomes the next prompter.
  • For 3 or more players; playable in person or over video chat.
  • Based on Punderdome 3000, a Brooklyn live show running since 2011, created by a father-daughter comedy duo including standup comedian Jo Firestone.

Gets My Teenager to Talk to Me!

We have a lot of fun playing this together. You make up puns using two random words. Technically, there should be more than two people playing, but my daughter and I play together and don't keep score. It's fun, and we can either groan, or laugh, or be impressed when one of us makes a particularly clever connection. I'm back to buy one for my brother and his kids.
