Studying in New York fueled Maddie M's desire to learn more about different people and their cultures. She then spent five years traveling abroad, teaching herself graphic design. "I'd create unique designs for family members and get them printed as gifts," she explains. Returning to the US, she created invitations and birth announcements, but it was during the pandemic when she began putting messages on blankets. "I felt like a blanket represented a warm hug from a distance," Maddie says.
