As a kid in Syracuse, New York, Amanda Preske's parents taught her various crafts. In college, "not knowing how to combine my two passions, science and art," she ended up getting a PhD in semiconductor synthesis. After moving to Washington, DC, "to be closer to science and tech innovation," she discovered unwanted electronics, and has never stopped tinkering with them. Science, her inspiration, "helps us uncover and understand the beauty found in our universe. I'm driven to convert that awe into art."

Beautifully done.
I bought this as a gift for a heart surgeon whose specialty is in the electrical portion of the heart. She's well versed in most all types of art that regards the heart. She was very surprised and had never seen this before! This is one of the coolest gifts I have given and to a well deserved person.
