Born in Kathmandu, Nepal, Lasata Shrestha was raised in a family of artists. She grew up watching her mother knit for her family, then for a clothing business she founded. Lasata earned a degree in fine arts and moved to the United States, where she started her own design business using her mother's production facility back in Nepal to have her pieces made. She draws inspiration from Boulder, Colorado's natural beauty and the unique and colorful blending of Eastern culture with Western society.
