What Makes It Uncommon

Ice Aged

Your favorite bourbon, barreled for at least a decade. Your preferred scotch, matured for a minimum of two. The age of these stones used to chill your drink? Nine hundred and forty million years. Kim B. Deland & Stephane Gagnon scour Quebec's seasonally snowless terrain to locate nonporous, metamorphic rocks formed during the American continent's creation. Once the stones are extracted, the couple transforms their discoveries into cocktail-size cubes that can be conveniently stored in the freezer to add ice-age temps to whiskey, brandy, and other amber-colored spirits without ever watering down the flavor. A new era indeed. Handmade in Canada.

Due to the handmade nature of this item, each is unique and will vary.

Unique gift for those unique people in your life!

Very unique looking, something nice to add to your bar collection.

Handsome and Unique Conversation Piece

I purchased these beautiful whiskey stones, along with a 16 year old bottle of Scotch, Lagavulin, and another Uncommon Goods gift, the New York Times Birthday Edition for my boyfriend's "big" birthday. Special birthdays call for special gifts. These stones are classy with their gorgeous black and mint green colors. And a huge plus regarding their age and history.

Loved them so much, I bought them again!

My friend uses these for his whiskey. I use them for all of my drinks. We love them!

Given as a gift

This was given to my brother-in-law for the holiday this December. I don't know if he has used it yet. I live in a place where they do make something similar locally, but I wanted something that came with certification papers about the age/history of the rocks. I loved how this came with a tray. The rocks are quite stylish looking which I think benefits the drink they are supposed to go with. These rocks are meant to keep the Whisky at the ideal sipping temperature, which is about 50 I believe. It is meant to not dilute the beverage as ice would, and even though you keep them in the freezer, they are also not meant to make your drink as cold as ice would either. If you need your liquor colder than 50, you better just stick with ice.

What a cool gift!

These gneiss rock whiskey stones are not only a classy gift, they come with an explanation of the rock's origin and age.
