Well made but deceiving design
By calling it self watering and not showing how the planter functions is misleading. I thought the glass part was a water reservoir for the self watering function. That's not actually the case. the glass part does not feed into the planter at all so it's basically useless

Very convenient
I think this is a great gift for anyone who is not home a lot or out of town often. I have a few other self watering plants and look forward to get to try this one!

Beautiful and functional
Bought this gift for my plant loving sister. It's not only high quality but really cute. The self water function makes it all so easy.

What plant do you suggest to use/best results?
Verified reply from Allison
Any plant will work! Herbs are super easy but any number of plants will do! Cut 1-3 shoots from your plant and place them in the water-filled glass container. Over the next 2-8 weeks new roots will appear and grow in the glass container.

When the description says "self watering pot" does this mean that the water from the propagation section waters the base of the pot, and thus, when you see the water from the propagation section getting low, you should only refill that section with water? Please provide more clarity.
Verified reply from Allison
Water is added to the bottom 'saucer' for the large plant. The rope threaded through the pot lays in the water saucer for the plant to slowly drink! The glass bottle holds water but does not have a hole in the bottom. The pot must be removed to add additional water.
