Drab, seams falling apart in multiple places

I received this as a birthday gift from my husband. We ALMOST returned it when it was received, because it was not colorful and neither one of us found it very pretty. I understand that they are all unique, but mine is mostly brown, with some rust, olive green, orange, gray, and beige. The only bright color is turquoise. He had hoped it would be light and colorful like the pictures, but the one we got is drab and dark. But I kept it because he picked it out with care. I've worn it less than a dozen times, and several of the seams are shredding apart and there are now big holes in it. :( We looked at the seams to see if I could sew it back together and it appears that the fabric wasn't overlapped enough for the seams to hold (fabric was stitched together right at the edges) so that with any pressure, the fabric just started to pull apart and shred. It's too bad, I love the idea, ours just wasn't good appearance or quality.

Very nice

This is a warmer robe. Seems well made. I'm not sure all the pieces are silk, some might be artificial silk. The colors are more muted brown and fall colors. Still very beautiful.

Wrap yourself up in luxury

I love my new timeless silk robe and I will keep it for decades. When I put it on I feel special / pampered as it is soft and luxurious. I like knowing that it repurposed saris that would of been trashed and that this give work to people in third world countries. While I was hesitant to purchase this as you are not able to pick your color palette, mine came in fall colored neutrals which was ideal for me. My only 2 wishes were (1) it was full length like the cotton version and (2) you made a third size between the two offered as I am on the small end of the large one and it is very wide.
