Too difficult for even an adult
I plan to return this as my 8yo grandson could not tackle this at all and neither could I

Fun for the whole family
My nephew loves this! He loves anything STEM and we all had fun setting it up and getting all the instruments to play. He is 7 so he did require our help, definitely be prepared to spend some time with your young one if you get this for them.

The pieces are well made and a mix of wood and plastic. It does take some patience to get the pieces lined up just right. My kids and myself had fun changing the courses and even incorporating other toys into

Thrilled with the quality and concept!
This is so much better than I expected. This is a gift and I am sure the recipient and his parents will love it. Booklet gives several combinations in mixing the various elements but truthfully there are many more combinations to be created. I think the entire family will enjoy it and the quality of the pieces are machined beautifully. I will definitely gift this again.

So much fun!
The item was perfect! Great for kods of all ages and geared to help some grear STEAM concepts for kids. 52 pieces though so the poeces may scatter if not organized well in your home or classroom.

Wonderful! And flexible, so get creative!
Very well made and beautiful! There IS a learning curve, so instead of trying to do one whole setup, I did a portion at a time, then finally got them lined up. I think rather than setting up on a table, floor play gives greater stability. But I LOVE it!

hard to set up correctly
SO hard to get it to all align correctly. Even my usually never-gives-up child finally gave up. You can still do your own designs with subsections though, just using the whole thing at once doesn't work well.

Frustrating
Cute idea but difficult to set up for ball to travel all the way through. Was frustrating for my grandson Kept having to re-set up. Sitting in a box in his closet now

Good in theory
This is very difficult to setup. Adult support is a must. My husband is an engineer, otherwise don't know if we could've figured it out. It is so finicky. It was purchased for a 9yr old. If they could set it up themselves, I'm sure it would get more use. Unfortunately, I can guarantee it will not be used again. That is a lot of money wasted. The age range is deceiving - there should be more clarification as to the level of difficulty. I love the items sold here typically, this is very disappointing.

Does it come with some sort of storage option (bag, box, or other container) to keep the set together when not in use

The description says there are 3 designs included, with only one pictured. How limited are creations beyond those 3? (i.e. some components only work in certain order or groupings)

Great question! You may arrange the construction set however you please after you complete the 3 suggested designs. Get experimental! Make noise! This kit is mean to be qual parts building blocks and an exercise in understanding musical composition :^)
