What Makes This Italian Amaretti Cookie Tin Uncommon

In the center of Saronno, Italy, nestled within the stone walls of a 17th-century Franciscan cloister, a sweet tradition has endured for over 300 years. Chiostro di Saronno—Cloister of Saronno—is both the name of the historic monastery and the home of the Lazzaroni family’s legendary amaretti cookies. Made from a simple mix of traditional ingredients, these crisp, airy bites carry a delicately bittersweet flavor and a story that spans generations.

  • Traditional recipe uses sugar, apricot kernels, and egg whites.
  • Each cookie is individually wrapped in tissue and packed in a beautiful keepsake tin.
  • Perfect pairing with espresso, dessert wine, or aperitifs.
  • See nutritional information here.
  • Handmade in Italy.

The real deal

This was a surprise delivery and absolutely made my day! The tin is very attractive and, most importantly, the cookies are fresh, tasty, and 'old school'. Love them with afternoon tea.

Gift to myself

I bought these as a gift to myself because who doesn't need a gift nowadays? These cookies are delicious. I went back and ordered them again.
