Disappointed...too thick & no grip to hold it in place
I ordered this as a gift for my parents for their anniversary to replace a mat they had received years ago that looked like this but had worn out. However, we were very disappointed that the mat was so thick--people could trip over it. Also, there wasn't any "grip" on the bottom to hold it in place and keep it from sliding around.

Home Plate Mat
This is an awesome looking doormat. The problem is that it is too thick that my door can't go over it. Instead the door pushes it backwards making it so people do not see it when entering the house. Very disappointing.

Racing around the bases
This product was purchased to sit outside a friend's dorm room. As a first year I knew she would be nervous about leaving home and as a long-time softball player, I thought of her as soon as I saw the item. The item was much larger than anticipated and very durable. The paint/print was bold and exactly as the picture. She loved it!

Good quality door mat
My friend is a big baseball fan, and when this showed up on your website I knew he'd love it! He did and keeps it at his most-used doorway inside the garage. His reaction was surprise and joy. These days it's hard to make somebody happy with a present, but this mat sure fit the bill!

What are the care instructions? The bag containing the mat was full of fibers from shedding. I want to give this as a gift, but the recipients would not be happy with a mat that tracks in fibers. Also, is there any way to protect against fading over time? I read some reviews about that happening. If these issues can be remedied I think he's going to love it. Thanks!

Thanks for your question. There are no care instructions, really, as it doesn't need any upkeep. There will be some shedding of the coir for the first few weeks but that will diminish over time. And although the black print is very tough, as with anything, longterm exposure to the elements will fade it a bit. Home Plate mat is die-cut vinyl backed cocoa, which means there is a layer of vinyl (like rubber) on backside of mat that seals the mat from trapped water underneath and fast deterioration from water eating at natural cocoa fibers. The vinyl actually also helps control shedding of cocoa fibers.

Is the "M" more proportioned then what it looks like on the site? The one the sight it looks like an "N" and the extra line was added to make the "M"

Yes, that slight distortion you're seeing is just from the angle of the rug when it was photographed.

This seems to be one one those cases when computers are not perfectly WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get). Because computer screens come with various specifications and, on top of that, have an infinite number of color settings, actual colors can look a little different from what you see on your screen. Eue to the natural coconut fiber that it's made of, the background color of our Home Plate Doormat is what they call in the house paint world, "antique linen."
