location

New York

Growing up in Ukraine, Kate Koel planned to follow her parents into the hospitality business, and after college, she moved to New York for its restaurant scene. But discovering the city's Garment District and finding materials she’d never seen before reignited a childhood passion for jewelry making. After studying design and metalwork, Kate saw a new vision for her life, and she turned a onetime hobby into her full-time career. "Life is like jewelry," Kate says. "You need to look deeper to discover more."
