I like the design.

Perfect size for a map to show off all the places we have checked off by scratching off. Great gold color, looks so fancy and gives couture to our home! Stopped scratching after a couple of years
Received the map as a gift a couple of years ago. It's beautiful and worked great at first, however after a couple of years I can no longer scratch off any of the gold foil. It's a shame because I was so excited to continue scratching out my travels over the years, but now when I try to scratch off any new places it just won't work and ruins the map.

Is the standard size hard to scratch off because of how small the countries are?

No, it's not more difficult, but you will need to use extra attention to detail for the smaller countries. Also, we recommend using a pencil eraser to "scratch" off, rather than a coin, because it removes the foil very easily and you don't risk scratching through the poster.

Do you sell a frame that would fit the standard size map?

Unfortunately we do not sell a frame that would fit the standard size map. You can get it custom framed, however beware of drymounting. It may melt the scratch-off coating making the scratching-off difficult. Others have bought a frame and cut it down to size. Hope this helps!

You hang this like any poster - use tape, tacks, poster putty, etc. - it all depends on what you are comfortable using on your walls.

I see it comes in a shipping tube. We will be doing some serious travel and need something strong enough to display when we're somewhere and then roll to take to next destination. Is it strong enough for this? Thank you.

The tube is very sturdy cardboard - that said, it is still just cardboard and wouldn't hold up as well as a stronger material. It would depend on where you pack it, if it's exposed to the elements, etc. but could be suitable under the right conditions.

What are the dimensions of the map portion of the poster. I want to get a frame with a photoboard mat to display only the map not the miscellaneous items on the bottom of the poster.

This map comes in two sizes. The large map has a 3/4" border around the top and sides, and the facts on the bottom take up 4.75". The standard map has a 5/8" border around the top and sides, and the facts on the bottom take up 2.5".

Lets say someone comes from Sydney, Australia. Can he scratch just the city not the whole state? I planned to have the map in my laundry where lots of travellers stop by for their laundry!
